Needs/Get Involved

With Gracia Schools serving an underprivileged and impoverished area, many of the families of the children cannot afford to send their children to school there or anywhere else. The government does not do a whole lot to help the situation there either and gives no money to Gracia Schools. Because of this, many of the students (about half) go to school there for free. Money is always needed to pay for books, equipment, uniforms and for paying the teachers and such. The teachers make around $200 a month which is considered a reasonable salary in this area of Indonesia and is quite frankly all we can afford to pay them right now. From time to time things at the schools will need to be repaired or replaced. Some of your contributions may be used to cover this too. Know that all funds are used only for the school. There are over 300 children currently attending the schools with around 50 teachers and assistants serving them. Gracia Schools are based in Tangerang, Indonesia on the island of Java.

    Funding for construction and stocking of the high school and vocational school is complete! Only a few finishing touches need to be added but this phase is pretty much done.
